R: No OCR in ancient scanned PDF, maybe no but yes.

Some Books.google.com and Archive.com hints. 1) Google lets you download a PDF of the first Volume in a series but claims no e-book for second etc volumes and offers to sell you a hard copy. Strangely if you do the search in archive.org you will find all volumes to download for free. 2) You download a PDF and try to do a word search but it does not have embedded OCR text. Often if you go back to download page you will find a Text only option you can open. It is an HTML web file but Control-S will save it. And in Calibre E-book Management system you can convert the HTML to E-book format.
